Toronto SUN

One of the sweetest spots I've come across lately is Jadranka Pastries in Etobicoke, specializing in absolutely gorgeous, generous-sized Viennese-style pastries and cakes at incredible prices.
The small, family-run operation brings more than 50 years of experience to the dessert table, and you can tell -- pastries are made with pure butter, fresh cream and various fillings, including walnut, hazelnut and more.
Cakes are beautiful, among them wedding cakes. Look for bohem pastries, made with toasted hazelnut crust and a cream filling drizzled with chocolate glaze, or a beautiful shamponez dessert, featuring a decadent blend of walnut pastry layered with walnut and chocolate cream filling.
There's so much more, of course, including tea cookies and the sweetest petits fours that actually look like works of art, but taste of heaven! Jadranka can be considered masters in cake-making! If you're looking for something unique for the holidays, pop into Jadranka -- you won't be disappointed.
- Jadranka Pastries, 257 Scarlett Rd., (south of Eglinton Ave. W.), 416-604-4419, Open seven days a week, starting at 10 a.m. Holiday Hours: Dec. 23, and Dec. 30, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Dec. 24, and Dec. 31, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Dec. 26, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
