Artist Statement For the past 15 years, Lynn Damp has been pursuing her interest in fine art with increasing vigour and intensity. Studies have included art classes and workshops at various local and international locations, augmented by museum and gallery visits wherever she goes in the world. Art is totally absorbing for Lynn - spiritually, intellectually and physically. She is very appreciative of her patrons (family), teachers, mentors, fellow artists and friends for their support and encouragement. Life on Lido reflects Lynn's love of the Florida Gulf coast where she has a home on Lido Key in Sarasota. The beaches possess an undeniable beauty but it is the people that give them life and context. Or is it the other way around? The images were based on photographic references enhanced and infused with the artist's emotion. When asked about the collection Lynn declared, “The series was a pleasure to create and I think I was smiling throughout the entire process. It is my hope that the work evokes a similar positive response in the viewer.”
